about
Pieces
nothing I could do, to ease your mind, help you see it through
now I’m standing here along without a clue -
about how to move. how to make sense of the loss of your life, your talent, your voice, that laughter, your playful heart. i’ll never be able to pick up those pieces. it’s baked into my heart for the rest of it.
loss without consolation. little pictures will come. images and mementos that will never fit together into a cohesive whole. Pieces, now without gravity, float into space.
living with the regret of not knowing how to help you. being set against you. it’s now about forgiving myself which is a lifetime of work. i know why it was so hard for you. it’s been hard for me too. i hope there’s a heaven. i don’t care if I see it. but I hope it houses your radiance. i hope there is comfort for you. the peace and comfort that you could never find here.
Pieces are all that's left behind. and I have to move on. i have to keep walking. i have to trust that there is meaning and heart and love and mercy after all of this hurt.
